Mikaela has been working at the Civic Centre Vet Surgery since February 2007 and is currently in her 4th year of studying Veterinary Science at UQ. Working at the surgery has enriched Mikaela's understanding of veterinary practice and will provide her with invaluable experience for her future career as a veterinarian.
Rebecca Rebecca Cavalea - Veterinary Nurse
Rebecca is the newest member of our team. She is bright and cheery and very enthusiastic about veterinary nursing, which is understandable having previously worked in a bank. Rebecca commenced work at our clinic in May 2009 and started her nursing studies in July 2009. She has always been a ‘collector' of stray animals, much to her family's exasperation at times. She rides horses, has studied photography, and enjoys movies on weekends. She is a valued addition to our nursing team.
Rachel McGregor - Veterinarian Rachael McGregor - Veterinarian
Rachael has been working at the Surgery from early 2008 after graduating from the University of Queensland with a degree in Veterinary Science 2007. Rachael works Saturdays at the clinic.

Rachael likes to build rapport with pet owners and work with them towards keeping their pets healthy. She adores guinea pigs and has three of her own (Wookie, Prince and Bobo) who inhabit her Surfers Paradise apartment. Rachael and her partner have held back on buying a house as he believes it would descend into a zoo in a matter of weeks - full of cute adopted animals.

Rachael is a gym junkie with a very outgoing personality. She loves to keep fit. Rachael also likes to travel and has volunteered with the veterinarian at the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai Thailand. She is currently looking forward to a trip to South America visiting the famous Galapagos Islands and completing the demanding Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru. Guinea pig is often on the menu in Peru - but Rachael will definitely not be trying that particular local delicacy.
